Background
Five One Taxis Ltd is Lowestoft's number one taxi service.
The company was formed in 1987 and has experienced steady
growth ever since. The company has three directors,
with a combined experience of more than six decades.
Current Operations
We operate from a unit at Harbour Road Industrial Estate
in Oulton Broad near Lowestoft. The unit consists of
a Booking Office, Administration Office and a fully
equipped Workshop. We employ fifteen full time staff
consisting of Telephonists, Controllers, Dispatchers,
Computer Technician and a Vehicle Mechanic.
Maintenance and Repairs
We pride ourselves in operating our own workshop, undertaking
all maintenance, servicing and valeting in house. We
operate nearly fifty vehicles which all are licence
by the local council. We have public liability as an
addition to road risks cover vehicles off the public
highway such as airport pick up and drop off points.
We are a company that very much stands on our reputation
and as such the backbone of our success is a prompt,
reliable service.
Drivers and Vehicles
All of our drivers and vehicles are licensed by Waveney
District Council. Drivers go through strict vetting
before being granted a licence. Vehicles go through
a very comprehensive safety and compliance test annually
with three safety checks per year all independently
carried out by Waveney District Council. We also service
our vehicles every six weeks as well as weekly safety
checks.
On all work we currently carry out
we do not sub-contract any work. Without wishing to
put ourselves down we do have companies in place to
assist us if the need arises. We would very much like
to be considered to carry out your transport needs,
